MANCHESTER – Today, Southern New Hampshire University hosted an event with New Hampshire’s Governor, Chris Sununu. SNHU campus president, Patty Lynott, used this event as a way to begin her efforts in bringing political diversity and opportunity to campus. NHFCR State Chairman, Dan Passen, released the following statement:
“Too often, Republicans on America’s campuses face an uphill battle when it comes to their right to freely express their opinions and beliefs in the political realm. Luckily, on the SNHU campus, we have a president that is aware of this uphill battle and is just as worried about it as the College Republicans are. Patty Lynott has shown a consistent willingness to work with the College Republicans at SNHU and it is not going unnoticed by the NHFCR. Bringing New Hampshire’s Governor to campus to talk about the issues facing millennials allowed the students to truly realize just how effective Republican leadership can be.”
“Governor Sununu was well-received by the students and handled their questions with exemplary poise, showing that Republican values do in fact have a place on college campuses. Governor Sununu discussed initiatives like school choice and bringing jobs to New Hampshire. We thank Governor Sununu for taking the time out of his schedule to spend time with the youth of New Hampshire, and applaud SNHU and Patty Lynott for giving their students a difference in political perspective. The NHFCR hopes to continue to see such activism and political diversity coming from all New Hampshire universities and colleges.”
